Curriculum Vitae of Arthur Winstanley
Born and raised, married, blessed with children and divorced, educated and employed (sometimes gainfully, sometimes not so much) in the New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania
tri-state area, Arthur (the 3rd of 5 Arthurs) Winstanley moved to Key West, Florida after, as he puts it, ‘my thirty year career in Art & Creative Direction for the Fortune 500 seemed as pointless as shoveling snow’.

Leaving most everything else behind, he brought with him his brushes, pencils and paints, cameras, a desktop computer and his vintage 1978, Guild D-50 acoustic guitar.
But most importantly, he brought, his passion, imagination and enthusiasm for life and the artistic creative process.

‘Some people are born to sell’, he muses.’Others are born to govern or rob banks. But for me, the business of creation is the thing. Simply stated, I like to make stuff.
Whatever medium I think will translate it best, be it painting, drawing, photography, writing, sculpture or singing, as long as I can capture the essence of an original creative spark and get it done with my own two hands, heart and intuition, life is good.’
My work is all about expressing a feeling or emotion inspired by an object or event, not
capturing the physical form of the object or event itself. I usually know, intuitively, which artistic medium will say it best and then I trust my design sense to send the message.  For my money, it\\\'s always the message, not the medium, that is most important.’
The collection of Art’s most current works can be viewed, by appointment, at his studio and private gallery, Art-On-Ashe in Old Town, Key West. Feel welcome to call if you’d like to stop by, the number is 305.293.9552.
You may also sample the best of his abstract acrylics, watercolors, illustrations, photographic studies and graphic design projects on his website, www.artonashe.com
‘Thank-you so much for your interest.’
